Feng Chia University Advances to Regional Finals of 9th Annual Hult Prize in response to the United Nations Youth Unemployment Challenge

The Hult Prize has recently announced the winning team from Feng Chia University that has advanced to the 10th annual regional finals of the competition.

The Hult Prize is a crowdsourcing platform for social good, named one of the top five ideas changing the world by TIME Magazine. The innovative crowdsourcing platform identifies and launches disruptive and catalytic social ventures that aim to solve the planet’s most pressing challenges. This year, the Hult Prize is focused around finding solutions for the millions of people around the world affected by Youth Unemployment.

The winning team members from Feng Chia University include OUEDRAOGO Abdoul Rachid, Ismael Setswale Poopedi, Punnapa Kietianuwat, and Le Thao My.

The team competed in the Hult Prize at Feng Chia University event on December 14th and built a solution to this year’s challenge, Provide Jobs to 10.000 Unemployed Youth. Their solution is to create sustainable agricultural programs driven to change Africa one village at a time, for the people, by the people.

The team will now move on to compete at the Hult Prize regional finals in March 2019, which are being hosted around the world. Feng Chia University will compete in Tokyo, Japan.

Ahmad Ashkar, CEO and Founder of the Hult Prize attributes the success of the competition to the global youth revolution. Following the regional finals, one winning team from each host city will advance to an intensive 6-week summer business incubator, where they will receive mentorship, advisory and strategic planning as they create prototypes and set-up to launch their new social business. The final round of competition will take place in September, where a jury panel will select the annual Hult Prize winner. USD 1,000,000 Prize to the winning team.
